To illustrate the types of areas for development in Data Governance we have produced a chart to visualise their relative complexity. This is based on our direct experience in developing the Open Banking Standard and generalising the approach for input into the UK’s Smart Data strategy.

Developing API specifications is more complex and takes more time than developing cross-sector consistency, or developing data rights.

This can help support and shape how we both scope and prioritise our work to enable the creation of a data ecosystem that works for everyone.
